Mapping all of those who are saving our oceans

You may have noticed that more and more organizations are working to protect our oceans. The fight for our oceans is with out doubt extremely important but it has become very chaotic, with a host of organisations actively working in various feelds. That is why the idea emerged to built a free global database listing all active marine conservation organisations(MCOs).

The primary purpose of the database is to bring structure and clarity to a topic that is vital to our future yet has become disorganized.

the database will be freely accessible online by means of this website.  Search features, filtering options, and statistical tools will be available on the site to support effective use of the data.

With this database we aim to:

  • Make it easier for the general public to find and get involved with MCOs

  • Simplefy finding volunteers/volunteer positions

  • Help organizations secure funding

  • Be able to identify areas where conservation efforts overlap

  • Reveal gaps where conservation is still needed

  • Encourage collaboration between organizations

  • Assist in communication and knowledge-sharing

  • Strengthen marine conservation efforts worldwide

If you are part of a marine conservation organization, we would love for you to join our database. Your participation will help us build a clearer picture of what is happening across our oceans—and ultimately support more effective protection of our planet.
